‘Shine’ is the children's community at Ga†eway on a Sunday.
What we believe
Welcome to ‘Shine’ at Ga†eway. We believe children are important. Just click on Matthew 19:14, Bible, to check out what Jesus once said.
3yrs & upwards
We provide a safe and fun environment for children aged 3 yrs and upwards to learn about Jesus. At ‘Shine’ our emphasis is for children to grow in faith with Jesus through Bible stories, games, crafts, activities and much more.
If your child is older they might prefer to stay in the main meeting and join in with the discussions going on there.
At the moment, they have to stay with parents/guardians and play with toys you have brought along. We don’t mind if they make noise. As the Church grows we hope to introduce a crèche.
1) Mottram Hall - We are located downstairs in the 'Shine' suites of Mottram Hall, below the main Sunday meeting which is held in the main meeting room.
2) Outreach Centre - Located in the adjacent rooms of the Outreach Centre, New Lodge (our 2nd congregation in Barnsley).
What happens in ‘Shine’?
Children will begin in the main meeting with everyone else, for praise and prayer before going into their own groups, where they will spend about 40 minutes learning about the God of the Bible, having fun with other children and generally making lots of noise. We regularly have a ‘give away’ at the end, sometimes food (any allergies please inform us on the consent form). The children will either return to the adult meeting for the last worship song or when it is time to have the buffet; it just depends on how much fun they are having!
If you would like your child to join us please fill in a consent form which you can obtain from a member of Ga†eway on the day. If you would prefer your child to stay in the service under your supervision, you are welcome to do so. Feel free to bring toys and books along to keep them entertained.
Gateway meetings (in person) have resumed every Sunday. See home page for more details.
